Dr. Darrel Murray
Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences
University of Illinois at Chicago


Background
Dr. Darrel L. Murray, Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago, received his BS and MS from Kansas State Teachers College at Emporia and his Ph.D. from Purdue University. Author or co-author of four books, Dr. Murray has conducted experiments on seed germination and plant survivorship. He has produced "tens of thousands of native plants" to establish seed gardens for restoration projects at Wolf Road Prairie and elsewhere in the Chicagoland area.

Jack Pizzo
Owner, Pizzo & Associates
Ecological Restoration throughout the Midwest


Background
Jack Pizzo, Senior Ecologist and Registered Landscape Architect, is a founding partner of Pizzo & Associates. He is involved in the design, construction and stewardship of a number of Midwestern ecological restoration projects. A graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS in Ornamental Horticulture, Jack is working toward his MS in Natural Resources in 2003. He has been active in buffer restoration at Wolf Road Prairie.

Jeff Swano
Environmental Economist and Founder
Executive Director of the Salt Creek Watershed Network


Background
Jeff Swano has 15 years of consulting experience with particular emphasis in environmental economic analysis, contaminated property assessment, solid waste management and watershed protection. A graduate of the University of Iowa, he helped form and organize the 200-plus member Salt Creek Watershed Network. Jeff lists many state and federal agencies as clients and also serves as Chairman of the Village of Brookfield's Conservation Committee.
