Location

The Salt Creek Headwater Recovery Project is located in a highly urbanized area of suburban Cook County, bounded by Wolf Road to the east, 31st Street to the south, Constitution Drive to the north and the Hinsdale/Sexton Landfill to the west. The project occurred on a five acre buffer site owned by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the twenty-three plus acre Harrier Marsh owned by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. Part of the project also lies on five acres of buffer owned by Save the Prairie Society.
