Wolf Road Prairie is a delightful place to visit any day of the year. Each of the
more than 360 species of native plants has its own blooming cycle. New species come
into blossom every day all season long.
From the pastels of spring to the lush greens and brilliant colors
of summer to the golds and crimsons of autumn, the preserve is a constantly changing scene.
Winter offers a different experience. Dried and dormant, the prairie
plants sleep but tracks in the snow assure us that even in this cold, quiet time, life goes on --
carrying forward the messages and traditions of the ages.
