(12) Historic House Site

At this point the northward trail leads from the marsh and over the boardwalk to the c. 1852 Franzosenbusch Prairie House. Located at 11225 Constitution Drive, at the northern boundary of Wolf Road Prairie, the structure is being restored as a museum and nature center. The original two rooms within the structure were the first Lutheran school and teacher's quarters in Proviso Township.

Return to the prairie by following the trail south from the house and past the wetland.
