(14) Turn South at the Corner
drawing by Henrietta Tweedie from Wildflowers of the Great Lakes Region with permission from the artist In the early 1920s, the prairie was subdivided into 16 city blocks and a grid pattern of streets and alleys was platted. Today, the sidewalks in the south 40 acres serve as trails which allow visitors to the prairie to enter and come close to the plants without disturbing them. |
