on Friday, October 28, at 7 p.m. for our Green Invasion event. Without any natural enemies, some imported plants have become aggressive, crowding out the native plants. This has a negative effect on the food supply of many of our native insects, birds, and animals who rely on native plants for many of their nutritional needs. Certified naturalist and environmental analyst Peter Carlson will provide samples and handouts and will use a PowerPoint presentation to help us identify and control them. A discussion will follow regarding the current debate on which species we should leave and which ones we should eradicate. This is a free event. For more information, call 708-354-5512.
